Our Timepiece Story

In the world of watchmaking, the beginning of Patrick and Amy’s timepiece story springs from their complementary strengths and draws inspiration from Patrick Ayoub, who first made his mark in automotive design.

Patrick’s love of drawing and designing cars to his evolution as a watch designer, often citing a distinct connection between cars and, "a small engine on your wrist," has become the centerpiece of Patrick's career, designing every timepiece detail, and meticulously building, testing, and developing luxury mechanical timepieces. Patrick’s significant watchmaking relationships with his Swiss partners and manufacturers dates to 2003, complimenting his automotive career spanning Europe and the U.S. 

Amy Ayoub, a native of Michigan with great-grandparents who immigrated from Europe to Détroit, brings a design expertise to the partnership in her own right.  Amy’s keen eye for detail, creative vision, and storytelling through interior design, compliments the design of their timepieces. 

Together, Patrick and Amy co-create through a design language, storytelling through their creations, all while embracing French héritage and a deep love for history and tradition that is the essence of watchmaking.

Detroit Watch Company was launched in 2013 and Patrick and Amy have never looked back. Their vision continues to expand as they create original luxury timepieces that fuel their passion for design and honors l' héritage of Détroit, a city founded by a Frenchman, Antoine de la Mothe, sieur de Cadillac.
